This beautiful addition was done in collaboration with a local architect, the homeowners, and Heart Homes. One measure of a successful addition is whether it integrates well with the existing house, and this one does just that. A side wall of the house was removed, and an 18 x 18 addition to the basement and first level of the home was added, providing a large family room with built-in cabinetry and fireplace, and an exquisite music room and library complete with a 2-sided fireplace and built-in bookcases. In the photo of the exterior, note how you actually can not tell where the addition (on the left) begins.

A third bay was also added to the garage wing, providing extra storage space below, and a second walk-in closet in the renovated upstairs master suite. This also allowed a small utility room to be converted into a fully functional laundry room with lots of cabinetry, and a mudroom with custom built-in lockers for each member of the family. The family actually lived in this home during the entire process, save a 3 week vacation while the wood floors were being finished. They want to work with us again!
